Roster set

Coming off a 4-2 loss to the Calgary Hitmen Sunday afternoon the Ice finalized their roster by sending F Luke Philp to the AJHL's Canmore Eagles and F Jesse Wood-Schatz to Sherwood Park AAA Midget. There could be another forward destined for Midget or Junior A depending on whether or not the club decides to go with 22 or 23. Currently they sit at 23 (14 forwards, 7 D-men and two goalies).

F Drew Czerwonka remains on the shelf with a shoulder injury but will skate this week and likely be cleared for contact next week.

G Nathan Lieuwen is the WHL goaltender of the week and will stand for the CHL version of the award.

In the pro ranks C Cody Eakin was sent down today by the Washington Capitals to the AHL's Hershey Bears. Eakin was among the last cuts last year also.

D Matt Walker, who was a member of the 2000 WHL championship team was waived by the Philadelphia Flyers.

people just dont appreciate Joe, he does a whole hell of a lot more than scoring goals. He is a huge role player and a very well liked guy. he has alot to offer younger guys on work ethic i can tell you that much. he might not be a sniper but he shows up every single night.
