As the Ice prepare for their second-to-last exhibition game in the Crowsnest Pass tonight against Lethbridge (thanks for the catch!) I found this on former Ice captain Dustin Sylvester.
Sylvester signed an AHL deal with the Calgary Flames affiliate in Abbotsford for the upcoming season after lighting-up the German second-league in Freiburg last season.
The Flames camp roster, at least the prospect one, is littered with Ice and former Ice players. As well as Marysville product and former Kimberley Dynamiter/Lethbridge Hurricane Carter Bancks.

An oldtimer was by yesterday who said he played in a fun mixed game several weeks back. Dustin Sylverter participated wanting some ice time. The oldtimer couldn't stop going on about how nice, how skilled and how many times Dustin tried to set him up during the course of the scrimmage. Dustin sure made a fan for life during that ice time.
That's a great story and I have a similar one but with Kris Knoblauch.
When Kris first came here a couple of years back he still wanted to play hockey and he came out with us on Sunday night at the Memorial. He played on my line and I think I scored six goals. "Just go to the net with my stick on the ice," he said. Nobody could touch him or get the puck unless he wanted to give it up.
It was priceless and I don't think my helmet fit very good after that!!
