Couple of articles

UPDATE -- Cody Eakin was named the WHL's Player of the Week. After being shutout during the regular season the Ice have now won it two straight weeks.

The release is here.

The Cole Grbavac suspension still hasn't been determined by the WHL but Darren Steinke of the Medicine Hat News reports that WHL Discplinarian Richard Doerksen, at the WHL's U.S. recruitment camp in Anaheim, said that a major should've been called on the play. Boomer is listed as day-to-day with an upper body injury while Grbavac missed game two with a TBD suspension. That TBD should come down today or early tomorrow for Grbavac from the WHL, who is waiting on an update on Boomer's condition before handing down the final decision on the Tiger forward.

Matt at the Townsman as a couple of pieces from the weekend action here and here.

As noted by a frequent poster below Matt has the numbers for games 3 and 4 as of Thursday pegged at 2063 and 2017, respectively. And now courtesy of those pesky Vancouver Canucks Tuesday night will have Game 7 of that sorry series to deal with.

Granted, tickets were only available Saturday over the Easter weekend so I'd imagine there'll be a rush both today and tomorrow.

I've heard there are a couple T.V.'s at the rec plex. Maybe they can have the Canucks game on so Canucks fans can go have a beer and watch during intermissions. And besides, barring an overtime session, there will be at least a full period to watch once the Ice game is over. Lets pack that plex hockey fans!

Word has it that people are under the impression that games 3 and 4 are sold out and so they are not even bothering to go buy tickets. Please get the word out quickly that these two home games are not sold out, but we sure would like them to be.

Come on Cranbrook; let’s sell out the Plex and show Western Canada how much we support this team; but even more important, let’s show this team how much we support them. The ICE are up 2-0 in this series. There is a high probability that we can witness something really special on Tuesday and Wednesday. Do you really want to miss it?

So please, spread the word. We’ve a ways to go to sell out these games. Let’s show some community and team spirit and let’s get it done. Get those tickets and enjoy the most awesome ride we’ve been on in years! Let’s get behind our team and cheer them on their awesome quest to the Memorial Cup! Remember, this isn’t my team or your team; its OUR team. Let’s prove it. GO ICE GO!!

To all the ICE fans everywhere, come out and see this great team play. I was able to see them in Medicine Hat for games 1 and 2, and well a few words that could describe them are stunning, powerful, magic, determined, unrelenting, jaw dropping, gritty, unwavering and these are just a few about what I can say about OUR great team and great year we are having. Yes this is a special year and we are on the verge of heading to the Holy Grail of the CHL, one step at a time. Let’s fill the rink and cheer loud and proud, you all have a chance to be part of this great run, step up and show our team that we are behind them 100% and they will not disappoint, I guarantee it.

GO ICE GO!!!!!!
