Reinhart Trio here Tuesday...

UPDATE: G Todd Mathews is headed to the Omaha Lancers of the USHL.... The Ice announced yesterday that both Ryan Bloom and Jared Zentner have been reassigned. They're likely to go either to Alberta Midget in Calgary and Red Deer, respectively or Alberta Junior A.

As per Jeff Hollick's Blog - the link is over there, on the right - 15-year-old Sam Reinhart will be called up from the BC Major Midget League's Vancouver NorthWest Giants to play in his first ever WHL game.

Sam Reinhart will be playing with his oldest brother Max and against his other brother Griffin against the Edmonton Oil Kings Tuesday at the Plex. The youngest Reinhart is tied for fourth in BC MML scoring with 10 points (6g, 4a) in six games in the BC Major Midget league.

Still no word on which two forwards Kootenay has decided to keep (two of Rossignol, Bloom, Zentner and Benoit). I expect the decision to come down later this afternoon.

So who's getting scratched so the Reinhart Bros can play together?

the commentary is so bad. I know you are in BC but what are you smoking? You can't remember one comment to the next and you are totally lost. Do you remember that you are doing hockey. Once you take a negative position on whatever you don't seem to be able to change it. Buck it up, you guys are so bad.

Keep up the good work Jeff, I really appreciate the time you take to bring this blog to us.

I can't believe they sat Pearce to play the young Reinhart-What a classless organization.

I hope you don't think that Jeff Bromley is our play-by-play guy. Oh right, you probably posted that at Jeff Hollicks blog but he deleted it.

Yeah, "I accidentally pushed the delete all post button instead of the post all button" eeerr um yeah. weasle. The radio commentary is brutal. But personally George is a great guy.

They didn't sit Pearce to play Sam Reinhart. Elgin Pearce has been sitting for quite a stretch, long before Sam Reinhart came to play. The ICE are a classy organization, thank you very much. Seeing Sam Reinhart score his first ever WHL goal as a member of the ICE at only 14 years of age, was special and something I'll never forget!

Mike,

All very good points-not sure the last comment was warranted though.

A few days ago when I posted some thoughts, a person anonymously stated that Im basically a moron and was asked what team i play for if I am comenting on subjects. I thought that wasnt warranted either. Didnt realize we had to play for a team to post. The post had something to do with Magnus and was shopt down by either a parent or a player? Only guessing.....

Mike from Canmore, I agree with you. Its a free country or so I thought and I was under the impression you could post your opinions here freely. I also thought that name calling was a no no. Stating opinions on sites such as this is how things sometimes change or get better, so keep right on posting!

Now as to your previous post about attendance, I agree whole heartedly about the music. I can't stand what its become. I also know that the best way to get information is to speak with people. I spoke with a senior who goes to the games whom I know from my church. He said someone asked on their behalf to turn the music down. I intend to ask that it go right back up and see what happens. I agree that the marketing is terrible; however, we have a pretty good hockey team that needs our support and quite plainly, they are not gettig it. It must be pretty hard for them to play to an empty arena night after night. I don't mean to take anything away from the faithful fans who do attend every game; I'm one of them. I get season tickets every year and attend every game and will do so as long as there is a team here. I'm talking about the other 16,000 people in this town? Where are they? I've always read and been told that Cranbrook is a hockey town. Well, I'm sorry, I don't see it. We are so privileged to have a WHL team here and this town had better wake up and smell the coffee before its too late! As to ticket prices, do the math. If you purchase season tickets you only pay $11.00 per game. That's pretty cheap. The ICE also have a payment plan whereby you pay so much a month for your season tickets. They also have an unused season ticket program for those who don't buy season tickets because they can't make every game. You can give your unused season tickets to others and they turn them in and pay $8.00 to attend any game. As to the walk up ticket prices, I don't think they are any higher than anywhere else, but I guess I'd have to check into that. Season tickets are still the cheapest way to go. Sure, their marketing sucks, but at the end of the day what we have here is a super WHL team of awesome players that really need our support. So, while people out there stay away from the games because they don't like the owner, or the music, or the lack of entertainment, or a half dozen other things you might choose to dislike, remember that who you are really hurting by staying away is your very own Kootenay ICE! GO ICE GO!

Sorry about that guys. I had a computer glitch and my rather long comment posted twice!

I have read all of the comments. IMO both posts used inappropriate name calling or references thereof. I am for constructive opinions or observations, but derogatory comments are not necessary.

Mike... just because someone asked what team you play for doesnt mean its their parent. By asking what team you play for means why do you sit back and criticize a player when you probably have never played hockey? And if you have did you ever play in the WHL? only guessing...

I think that "Cup half full" makes some great points, especially about supporting the players. These are young boys not paid professionals who are away from friends and family to play a game they love. My son spent some time there this fall at camp. Loved the community and was treated great by the team. We look forward to returning. Go Ice.
