Writers Poll # 9

Pats, Raiders fall in poll

WHL Writers - Losing to previously lower-ranked teams proved disastrous for the Regina Pats and Prince Albert Raiders in this week's WHL writers poll.

The Pats dropped four spots in the Western Major Junior Hockey Writers Association sampling to No. 10 this week, following losses to No. 9 Swift Current and No. 6 Medicine Hat. The Raiders lost to No. 13 Lethbridge, No. 2 Calgary and No. 16 Edmonton, falling from their No. 13 rank to 17th as a result.

Vancouver earned all 12 first-place votes for the seventh week in a row, while Calgary got 12 second-place votes. With winning percentages of .896 and .833, the top two teams are far ahead in both the league and poll standings.

The biggest gainers of the week were Kootenay (No. 8) and Edmonton (No. 16), both up two spots.

Members of the Western Major Junior Hockey Writers Association award votes in weighted order (22 points for first place, 21 for second, etc.). A total of 12 ballots were cast by the Brandon Sun, Chilliwack Progress, Kelowna Capital News, Kelowna Daily Courier, Kootenay NewsAdvertiser, Medicine Hat News, Prairie Post, Prince Albert Daily Herald, Prince George Citizen, Red Deer Advocate, Saskatoon StarPhoenix, Tri-City Herald.

hey man, have you stopped writing or what? the ICE are playing great as of late and you cant even talk about them winning 5 ina row ect. nor the fact we had two players playing for the ADT game ect. its been ten days that Ive been chacking in and nothing? whats up? everything ok out there? see a write up in the advertiser why dont you cut and paste it here to?
keep up the good work and keep us fans informed, Holick aint doing it which is also dissapointing knowing the hockey stats and facts he does. cant read more that three lines about our ICE anywhere.

Sorry about that. My son plays on two Atom hockey teams and I coach them both. It's been a busy week and I didn't get time to post it. It's up now.
